Coliant granted $250,000 loan to advance innovative tech products

Sterling Heights, Mich. – The Coliant Corporation, designers and manufacturers of innovative products that enable power sport enthusiasts to use high technology appliances while riding their vehicles, has secured a $250,000 pre-seed fund loan with the aid of the Macomb-OU INCubator.

"The Michigan Pre-seed Fund investment in Coliant Corporation would not have been possible without the full support of Julie Gustafson and the Macomb-OU INCubator staff," said President and CEO John Swiatek.

"This timely funding is an invaluable resource to Coliant's continued creation of new jobs for Michigan through our successful global release of rugged electrical connectors and electrical accessories for the motorcycle and ATV industry."

Coliant's ruggedized, weather-resistant, aftermarket electrical power outlets, plugs, accessory mounting brackets, storage bag electrification kits and electrically-heated apparel equipment serve a wide array of motorcycle, ATV, personal watercraft and snowmobile riders.

The company designs produces and sells the equipment so that riders can take advantage of cell phones, GPS devices, radar detectors, MP3 players, tire inflators and battery chargers while they're on the road, the trail or the water.

Swiatek said growing interest in the company and its useful products is a good sign for both Coliant and the state of Michigan.

"The trickle-down effect for job growth can already be seen as we are placing larger orders with technology-based suppliers in the North American corridor," he explained. "Coliant exports these locally designed and manufactured products to 37 countries under the Powerlet brand name."
