The Oakland Press reported on the Macomb-Oakland University business incubator's new "Lunch and Launch" lecture series.

Medical Main Street
The Detroit News, Detroit Free Press and Oakland Press reported on Medical Main Street, a unique alliance of world-class hospitals, universities and businesses in Oakland County. Oakland University participates in this initiative, which began in 2008.

Tech Transfer Talent Network
Xconomy Detroit reported on the Tech Transfer Talent Network, a new two-year initiative to help state universities take advantage of local entrepreneurs and innovators in an effort to commercialize university technology. This partnership consists of universities throughout the state, including Oakland.

Electric Car
The Oakland Press reported on the "eMO" electric-powered vehicle that was displayed near the entrance of OU's Oakland Center courtesy of auto manufacturer Tata Technologies.

Dr. Gary Russi, OU president, was quoted in a Rochester-Rochester Hills Patch article regarding the Community Outlook Address. Sponsored by the Rochester Regional Chamber of Commerce, this event was held on Oakland University's campus.

Virinder Moudgil
Dr. Virinder Moudgil, OU senior vice president for academic affairs and provost, penned an Oakland Press editorial chronicling the university's diverse range of student research activities.

Timothy Larrabee
Dr. Timothy Larrabee, associate professor of education, was quoted by WWJ and Between the Lines News regarding the first-ever statewide gender and sexuality education conference hosted by OU.

Henry Baskin

Ron DeRoo
Ron DeRoo, special lecturer in Oakland's Department of Music, Theatre and Dance, was the subject of an Oakland Press article paying tribute to the late musician's life and career. Prior to teaching at Oakland, DeRoo earned his master's degree in music from the university.

Campus Events

Gender and Sexuality Conference
WWJ and Between the Lines News reported on the first-ever statewide gender and sexuality education conference hosted by OU. The event featured education professionals and leaders who discussed ways to create a more inclusive educational environment throughout Michigan.

Community Outlook Address
The Rochester-Rochester Hills Patch reported on the Community Outlook Address sponsored by the Rochester Regional Chamber of Commerce, which took place on Oakland's campus.

Career Fair
The Oakland Press, C&G News and Oakland Township Patch reported on Oakland Job Hub 2012. Hosted by Oakland University, the event is designed to connect job seekers with employers from around the county.

Automotive Conference
The Oakland Press reported on an automotive research conference sponsored by Oakland University's School of Business Administration and the Michigan Transportation Research Institute. Professionals from across the auto world, academia and government convened at OU's campus to discuss topics related to the future of the industry.

Eating Disorder Awareness Week

Remarkable Students and Alumni

Alice Carleton
OU student and employee Alice Carleton was featured in the Rochester-Rochester Hills Patch. The 65-year-old freshman is working toward a degree in social work and hopes to become an advocate for victims of verbal abuse.

Keith Benson
Former OU basketball standout Keith Benson was featured on ArgusLeader.com after making his home debut with the Sioux Falls Skyforce of the NBA's developmental league.
