| The Macomb-Oakland University INCubator provides entrepreneurial resources, business solutions, access to student interns and proactive support to businesses at every stage, in an effort to help start-ups on their path to success.
The INCubator is located within the Technology Advancement SmartZone of Sterling Heights and is a partnership between the City of Sterling Heights, Macomb County and Oakland University.

| The Macomb-OU INCubator has screened approximately 114 potential client companies to date. The INCubator works with early stage companies in business planning and capital acquisition, as well as developed companies in need of commercialization and diversification efforts.

to help expand a company's reach.

| MACOMB-OU INC CLIENTS PRESENT TO GROWING INVESTMENT REVIEW BOARD
The INCubator Investment Review Board (IRB) marked its one-year anniversary in the spring and continues to grow and hold periodic meetings. The IRB enables our client companies to present their businesses to a variety of interested investors including capital investment groups, angel investor groups, banks, government agencies, venture capital firms, individual investors and more.
4 EMERGING COMPANIES JOIN THE INCUBATOR AS A CLIENT COMPANIES - Terra Telesis Inc., an alternative energy technology company that has designed the AWGET wind turbine, became a client of the Macomb-Oakland University INCubator in Sterling Heights in May. Full Story...

MICHIGAN PRE SEED CAPITAL FUND INVESTS IN ARBOR PLASTIC TECHNOLOGIES WITH INCUBATOR'S HELP The Macomb-Oakland University INCubator worked with Sterling Heights-based Arbor Plastic Technologies (APT) on their successful submission to the Michigan Pre Seed Capital Fund. The INCubator worked with APT on a business plan submission, ensuring that it complied with Michigan Pre Seed Fund requirements and would be competitive its evaluation. The Fund invested $250,000 in APT. Full Story... UPCOMING EVENTS
The Pawley Institute Summer Lean Series at the Macomb-OU INCubator is open for registration. The program has one upcoming session: How to Diversify Using Lean on August 2.
The session will run from 8:30 a.m.-noon with a breakfast at 8 a.m. Please visit LEAN for more information or to register.
The OU Lean Diversification Program can provide companies with the techniques necessary to make strategic decisions about diversification and, most importantly, develop employees to be key contributors and analytical thinkers in growth strategies.
Courses start Sept. 19 for the Green Belt Certificate and Sept. 26 for the Black Belt Certificate.
EVENT SPACE AVAILABLE
The Atrium and Innovation Lab are available for use by Macomb-OU INC tenants, partners and community members.
The Atrium is 2,931 square feet, can comfortably seat up to 115 people. The Innovation Lab is 1,211 square feet and seats up to 22. Both rooms have wireless Internet access.
Normal hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 5pm, but special arrangements can be made for evening and early morning events. Kosch Catering is on-site and can provide food service and setup for any event.
FACILITY CONSTRUCTION TO BEGIN
Renovations on the facility at 6633 18 Mile Road are scheduled to begin in July and continue throughout the summer.
Funded through a $412,000 Economic Development Administration grant, the funds will pay for electrical and plumbing upgrades, the removal of partitions, and the installation of telecommunications and office equipment.
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR SEARCH CONTINUES
The INCubator is continuing its search for a new Executive Director to oversee the strategic direction of the program and act as a resource for client companies.
All three partner organizations- Sterling Heights, Macomb County and Oakland University- are working together to interview candidates to get the best fit possible.
