Lunch & Launch speaker to share expertise on emotional intelligence
Sterling Heights, Mich. – Many understand that IQ is important for professional success, but what about emotional intelligence? This often overlooked success factor will be detailed at the Macomb-OU INCubator's next Lunch & Launch on Thursday, June 20.
During the event, Michael Schwartz, founder of Positive Concepts and BLSR Associates, will offer a presentation titled "Emotional Intelligence: The Secret Ingredient to Business Success." He will provide a thorough explanation of the value of emotional intelligence, including the business case for it, how it can help improve one's bottom line and how it can be a benefit both in and out of the workplace.
Schwartz founded Positive Concepts to provide training, education and consulting services, and recently founded BLSR Associates with several colleagues to expand offerings by joining complementary skills and expertise.
He has successfully applied various leadership theories and principles in leading numerous work groups and project teams to successful project completion, and has taught in a variety of venues including college courses and adult continuing education.
Schwartz received a bachelor of science degree from New York Institute of Technology, an MBA from Indiana University and a doctorate degree in business administration at Lawrence Technological University, with research focused on leadership and motivation.
He holds a professional engineer status and projection management professional certification, and is a member of the Academy of Management, the Project Management Institute, the Society of Automotive Engineers and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.
This free lecture, set for noon to 1 p.m. at the Macomb-OU INCubator, will include a question and answer period. Coffee and dessert will be served, though guests are asked to bring their own lunch.
The incubator is located in the Velocity building at 6633 Eighteen Mile Road in Sterling Heights. Those interested in attending the lecture are asked to register in advance by contacting Joan Carleton at (586) 884-9324 or e-mailing to macINC@oakland.edu.
