Performance Management Process
Friday, March 29, marked the end of the current performance cycle for non-bargained employee groups. As such, employees in these group
s should start preparing end-of-cycle comments highlighting their work performance and identifying the goals they've attained in 2012-13. As Monday, April 1, marked the beginning of the 2013-14 performance cycle, employees should also outline goals for the coming year in a new performance evaluation form.

This review process has a solid, positive impact on individual and university success because it promotes a positive understanding between employees and supervisors regarding acceptable job performance. The Performance Management Process is facilitated with the use of the TEAMS – the Total Employee and Management Source online system located at

The Performance Management section of the UHR website has been updated to reflect the new timeline. For employees who are new to this process or who would like a refresher course, training has been scheduled for April and May. Those interested should check the UHR Faculty and Staff Training site for details.

2013 Women of OU Critical Difference Scholarship Fashion Show
This is a reminder that the Women of OU Critical Difference Scholarship Committee is hosting their annual fashion show luncheon and fundraiser on Wednesday, April, 17, 2013, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the Oakland Center Banquet Rooms.

The theme for this year's show is "Glitz and Glamour," and models, including scholarship recipients and university vice presidents, will showcase outfits from Carson's of the Village Place Mall of Rochester Hills. The admission cost is $20, and there will be raffle drawings for specialty gift baskets with tickets at $5 for 7 or $10 for 15. All money raised will be used to fund future Critical Difference Scholarships. Guests should register online by Wednesday, April 10, or complete and submit the registration form along with a check to Linda Oliver or Ann Dieters-Williams in Development Services located in John Dodge House.
Mrs. Emelie Champagne, one of the distinguished founding members and creators of the Women of OU organization and the Critical Difference Scholarship program, will be a special guest at the fashion show.

Faculty Resource Training - Helping Our Student Veterans Succeed
Since the 2012 changes to the GI Bill, more student veterans than ever are pursuing higher education. This growing population brings valuable skills and assets to our campus communities but, sometimes, they face unique challenges as they transition from service or combat into college life. The Jed Foundation and the Bob Woodruff Foundation have partnered to create a training tool that helps campus health professionals best understand the student veteran perspective, engage with them on campus, and provide the resources and support they need to succeed. Thanks to funding from the Bob Woodruff Foundation, the training and CE/CME credits are offered at no charge.  Helping Our Student Veterans Succeed

A team would be worthless if everyone agreed on every issue. The purpose of teams is to facilitate discussions and foster creativity. Sometimes the same discussions and creative thoughts that help the team can also bring about conflict. Nobody is perfect and not everyone is going to get along. It's important that teams identify and target any problems before they escalate. At the end of this course you'll have the skills needed to recognize why teams stop working, identify why battles begin, learn how to target team problems, and develop the skills to discuss problems as a team.

Calling all OU Employees! Join us on Wednesday May 15th for the 3rd Annual Poker Walk to celebrate National Employee Health and Fitness Day! This is a one-mile fun walk that you can do as a team or individual. Feel free to walk anytime between 11:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. The walk will start and end at the OU Rec Center. Top three poker hands will win prizes valued at $100 each!
