Ice House Dig
The Oakland Press reported on the archeological dig performed by Oakland University students in an effort to unearth the remains of an ice house researchers believe was used in the 1800s on the estate of former Michigan Governor Moses Wisner.

Brooksie Way Grants
The Oakland Press reported on the Brooksie Way Minigrant program that recently awarded funds to 11 Oakland county-based organizations to support various projects in the community.

Hazardous Waste
The Oakland Press reported that Oakland University will host the first of four events to be held in support of this year's NO HAZ program, an environmental initiative that allows residents of local communities to dispose of hazardous materials safely.

SBA Open House

Diane Hartmus
Dr. Diane Hartmus, associate professor of political science, was featured in an Oakland Press article praising the recent nomination of legal scholar Elena Kagan for the U.S. Supreme Court.

John Kinkel
Dr. John Kinkel, an instructor in religious studies, was featured in an Oakland Press article about a course he teaches on the topic of Early Christianity.

Linda Schweitzer
Dr. Linda Schweitzer, associate professor of chemistry, was featured in an Oakland Press article offering insight into the harmful effects that a recent oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico will have on the environment.

Richard Stamps
Dr. Richard Stamps, professor of Anthropology, was featured in the Oakland Press article commenting on efforts to unearth a historical ice house in Pontiac.

Run for Autism
The Oakland Press reported on the "Run for Autism," an annual event that helps raise money in support of the local non-profit organizations Homes for Autism and OUCARES.

Foster Children Conference
The Detroit Free Press reported on "Rising Above the Odds Against Me," a conference at Oakland University designed to encourage foster care youths to attend college.

Concours d'Elegance
The Oakland Press and Rochester Post reported on the Concours d'Elegance, the annual car show that this year will feature a vintage motor car auction and automotive art exhibition. The event will take place July 23 on the historic grounds of Meadow Brook Hall.

Aaron Wick
OU baseball player Aaron Wick was featured in an Oakland Press article after pitching a no-hitter that helped the team earn a spot in this year's Summit League Tournament.

Christianity Course
The Oakland Press featured an article on a course in Early Christianity offered at Oakland. The course explores the origins of the Christian religion from a historical and examines its influence in the modern world.
