Benefits Corner - HAP/CRITTENTON ISSUE RESOLVED - SEE BELOW

HAP Network UPDATE
We have been notified that HAP and
Crittenton Hospital have come to a new agreement and HAP members can
continue to receive care at Crittenton without disruption. Letter will
be sent to HAP members verifying the Crittenton Hospital continues to be
a part of the HAP HMO network.
In light of this, the meeting
previously scheduled for Tuesday, July 12 has been cancelled. If you
have any questions, please contact the UHR Benefits Office at extension
4207. |
New Benefit
As part of our benefit offerings from CIGNA, we are pleased to announce the new Life Assistance Program (LAP). The LAP is available at no cost to all benefit eligible staff and faculty. We will soon be distributing brochures from CIGNA explaining the benefit and providing directions on how to access services.
The Life Assistance Program is available to help with challenges that may come up in day-to-day living. It's as simple as calling 800-538-3543 or accessing the online site. Trained advocates are available 24/7 to help assess the caller's needs and develop a solution to help resolve the caller's concerns. They can also direct the caller to resources in the community. Three face-to-face sessions with a specialist are also available as part of the program. Strict confidentiality is maintained. No information shared with CIGNA will be available to Oakland University.

PeopleAdmin for Academics is Coming!
PeopleAdmin, the online recruitment system currently used for staff
hiring, will become available this fall for hiring members of the
academic community. Advantages to this new system include: a paperless
method of hiring, search committee chairs knowing what the status of
their search is at all times, and ability to access from remote
locations. System training sessions are available for registration on
the University's training website.

Labels are a great way of organizing your email; nested labels give you
the ability to organize labels hierarchically, like you used to do with folders! Starting June 14, this has been available for everyone!
To start using them, you can either create a new sub-label from the
dropdown menu or just move an existing label under
another one using the edit option:

SkillSoft is keeping up-to-date with new versions of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office. There are training courses available on using Windows 7, and also on seven different Microsoft Office 10 products, including Word 10, Excel 10, PowerPoint 10, and Access 10. If you are feeling lost trying to navigate around in these updated applications, take some time to check out the SkillSoft tutorials and courses designed to make your job easier!
