Wednesday, September 11, 2013 - GMAT prep course, practice test to help students ace test

Thinking of applying to Graduate School? Oakland University’s Professional and Continuing Education (PACE) unit is offering a special course designed to prepare applicants to take the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT).

Administered by the Princeton Review, the course features 27 hours of in-class instruction, 10-hour computer-adaptive practice tests and access to online study tools. With a focus on content and strategy, course resources also include a comprehensive prep for the Integrated Reasoning Section and a GMAT Hard Math 700+ workshop. 

Outside the classroom, participants can take advantage of online support from Princeton Review certified GMAT instructors. 
 
Those who enroll in the course and are then admitted into one of Oakland University’s MBA programs will receive a $500 scholarship after successfully completing the first semester. 

The course meetings will take place on Wednesday evenings from 6-9 p.m. in 163 South Foundation Hall on Oakland’s main campus in Rochester. The dates are as follows:

  • Oct. 9, 16, 23 and 30
  • Nov. 6, 13 and 20
  • Dec. 4 and 11

The course instructor, Jeff Pozy, earned a Bachelor of Science in Engineering and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Michigan. He specializes in preparing individuals for a number of standardized tests, including the PSAT, SAT, SAT Subject Tests (Math levels 1 and 2) and various Advanced Placement exams.

In addition, PACE is offering a free GMAT Practice Test from 12:30-3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 28 in 223 Elliot Hall on Oakland University’s campus. After the test, participants will receive a detailed performance report with personalized tips on how to improve their scores.
