Master of Arts in Teaching with Elementary Certification (K-8)

 Apply by April 1 for Fall 2012. 
Attend an information meeting at OU's Main Campus in Rochester.

 
    • Designed for individuals who already have a bachelor's degree and are considering a career in teaching elementary or middle school
    • Quality, two-year program with OU's excellent reputation for preparing teachers to enhance your employability

    • Two off-campus locations, Macomb and Oakland County

    • Classes are held in the evening and on scheduled Saturdays, except for the final semester of student teaching.

    • Cohort program, classes taken in  sequence beginning in the fall semester. SCS 105, Science for Educators, is offered as a prerequisite course in Summer I (May/June).

    Macomb County Program 
    The MAT with Elementary Teacher Certification Program is offered at OU at the Macomb Intermediate School District.

     Oakland County Program

    The MAT with Elementary Teacher Certification program in Oakland County is primarily held at the MSU Management Education Center in Troy. Some Saturday classes are scheduled on campus.

    determine which of your previous courses may apply toward a teaching major or minor.
