Association of Black Students

This is a two day movie and discussion panel event. The first day of the program will consist of a movie screening (The Butler or 12 years a Slave) and light refreshments. The program will conclude with a discussion on what race means in 2014 and the racial climate at Oakland University. Prizes will be given to participants who attend both days!

This event is a part of the African-American Celebration Month festivities at Oakland University which takes place from January 20 - February 20. This month long celebration reflects OU’s ongoing commitment to celebrating the historical and cultural contributions that African Americans have made in the past, present and future.
