"OU Day of Service" is this Wednesday, November 13, from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. in the Gold Rooms of the Oakland Center
Please consider stopping by for 15 minutes, a half hour, or longer to participate in OU Day of Service
There are multiple service projects that OU students, faculty and staff
can participate in to assist non-profit organizations like The American
Red Cross, Kids' Food Basket, Arts and Scraps, and Beyond Basics.
There will also be “words of encouragement” and “appreciation”
letter-writing campaigns for children who are in the hospital, Red Cross
volunteers, and our military personnel (in honor of Veterans Day).
OU's American Red Cross Club, Student Veterans of Oakland
University, and The American Red Cross are collaborating to collect new
or gently used clothing items for the VA Hospital in Ann Arbor for our
homeless veterans. The following new or gently used items are needed: long sleeve shirts,
new socks/underwear, shoes, gloves, scarves, blue jeans, and
toiletries. Also, consider dropping off a non-perishable canned food
item to make Thanksgiving Day baskets for the less fortunate in
Pontiac. All the canned food items will be donated to the Lighthouse of
Oakland County. You can drop off your donations in the Gold Rooms of
the Oakland Center.
OU Day of Service
is being coordinated through the Leadership
and Volunteer Center in the Center for Student Activities. For more

It's the start of the holiday season, so, if you can, give generously to those less fortunate and to honor our veterans.
