Matthew Kay, cornet
soloist, in concert with the Oakland University Brass Band. For seven years he played in the solo cornet section of the
Yorkshire Building Society Band during which time it was widely regarded as
the best brass band in the world. In 1998 he was named the British Open Cornet
Champion. He is now pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in trumpet
performance at MSU. Mr. Kay will be performing the
Mermaid's Song by Alexander Owen.
