Hage, Christine Lind
Christine Lind Hage, RHPL director, shares the 100-year-old story of the Rochester Hills Public Library in an oral history collected at the RHPL on April 1, 2010. Follow the story of the first documented library in Rochester in 1872 to the building of the first facility on University and Pine to the 1992 relocation to the current facility on Olde Towne Road, visited by 1500-2500 people every day. She tells stories about individuals and community groups who were involved in building, designing, working and even gardening in the various locations. Recorded by Rebecca Rivard, this oral history stresses the central value of RHPL to Rochester, Rochester Hills, and Oakland Township residents and pays homage to individual efforts and contributions.
