Gilroy, Melvin
Melvin Gilroy, a member of the Oakland University Police Department for forty years, explained a bombing that took place in January of 1990. The bombs were used as a distraction as two men attempted to rob the Oakland Center during winter registration. The process of how the men were caught and their punishment was also discussed. This oral history was conducted by Leah Sanders, an undecided freshman on March 16, 2011 at the Oakland University Police Station as part of a class project for WRT 160, Winter 2011.
