Wilkins, Cliff
Cliff Wilkins and his wife Kay Ellen have been directors of the Rochester Conservatory of Music for 25 years. In this oral history, recorded at the conservatory on Third Street in downtown Rochester on February 24, 2010, Cliff Wilkins shares stories about the conservatory's history, community involvement, and two generations of musicianship. Strubler, David and Ann
David and Ann Strubler describe how they converted a centennial barn on their Oakland Township property into a unique Music and Art Barn to support and showcase local musicians and artists. David Strubler is a professor at Kettering University and Ann Strubler is a violinist with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra. David has lived in Rochester Hills for over five decades and graduated from Rochester High School. This oral history was recorded at the Strubler home on March 8, 2010. Recorded by Cornelia Pokrzywa. Hammel, Rod
Rod Hammel has lived in Rochester for over 40 years and raised two children in the Rochester Community Schools, where he and his wife were very involved in activities and he also worked as a substitute science teacher. In this recording, Hammel shares his interest in nature and environmentalism in the Rochester community and describes several community controversies he witnessed over the years. This interview was conducted by Oakland University students Rasheedah J. Halley Deboes and Danielle Sautter on May 27, 2010 at the OPC Senior Center. Run time 23:27.
