Pope, Melissa
Melissa Pope is the coordinator of the Gender & Sexuality Center at Oakland University. Pope served as the Director of Victims' Services at the Triangle Foundation prior to accepting the coordinator position at the GSC. She is also a judge in Michigan tribal courts. She studied at the University of Michigan and acquired her J.D. Having served as the coordinator of the GSC for two years now she has played a substantial role in helping the office grow from its humble beginnings just six years ago in 2005. This oral history was conducted by Sean Cannady, freshman of International Relations at Oakland University on March 28, 2011 at the office of the Gender & Sexuality Center as part of a class project for WRT 160, Winter 2011.
