McDonald, Marilyn
Marilyn McDonald describes the rural nature of Rochester when she moved here nearly 50 years ago. Her memories include stories about driving the first minivans run by the Older Person’s Commission, the early days of the Senior Center, and the first time the center made 500 pies for Rochester’s Art & Apples Festival. Fogler, Joan
Joan Fogler, longtime Rochester resident, shares an oral history that covers her early days as a waitress at the historic Red Knapp's Dairy Bar to her current position as Oakland Township Supervisor. Fogler's years in Rochester include a memorable stint as the creator of the famous Red Knapp's Malt recipe, weekends working at the Fogler family farm, and a lifetime of community service.
