Davis-Kirksey, Linda
Linda Davis-Kirksey, a successful consultant who specializes in grant writing, political consulting, and organizational development/training, shares the story of how she met her husband, attorney Stephen Kirksey, when she managed the political campaign of his opponent during a local election. Fealk, Bruce
Bruce Fealk, editor and publisher of The Rochester Citizen, recorded an oral history at the Rochester Area Heritage Festival in September 2010 to discuss life in the mostly conservative community of Rochester. Szura, Jean
Jean Szura shared her history as the Oakland University Student Congress (OUSC) adviser and she also commented on the past elections that she either oversaw or was involved with at some level. Near the end, Szura commented on more experiences at other institutions and the connection she made from higher education elections to local, state, and national elections. Dulio, David
Dave Dulio is Associate Professor and Chair of the Political Science department at Oakland University. Dulio teaches courses in American politics generally, and specializes in campaigns and elections, political parties, interest groups, and Congress. His research interests are the electoral process, the professionalism of elections in the United States, and the role of money in elections. In this oral history, recorded in his campus office on October 25, 2011 by Cornelia Pokrzywa, Dulio discusses his own political memories and his experiences teaching political science before delving into the significance of the Republican Candidate Debate scheduled to take place at Oakland University on November 9, 2011. This marks the first time OU has been selected as a site for a presidential candidate debate. Run time 26:06.
