The Meadow Brook Art Gallery marked its 40th anniversary this year with a masterworks celebration showcasing 75 works from the Oakland University Art Collection. "There is an extraordinary range of works in this collection from small gems to major works by important masters," says Dick Goody, gallery director. The $10-million collection comprises more than 1,500 objects and includes works of Alex Katz, Edvard Munch, Albrecht Dürer and Eugène Delacroix, along with one of the finest collections of African art in Michigan.
