The AMCIS 2011 Doctoral Consortium
What is the AMCIS Doctoral Consortium
The 2011 AMCIS Doctoral Consortium will take place on the campus of Oakland University --AMCIS 2011 host -- in conjunction with the 2011 Americas Conference of Information Systems. The Doctoral Consortium provides an opportunity for doctoral students to network, receive feedback on their research, and discuss career issues with peers and faculty mentors. The Consortium:
- Provides a supportive setting for feedback on students' current research and guidance on future research directions
- Offers each student comments and fresh perspectives on their work from researchers and students outside their own institution
- Promotes the development of a supportive community of scholars and a spirit of collaborative research
The focus of the Doctoral Consortium is to provide an opportunity for Ph.D. students making progress on their dissertation research to share and discuss their research with peers and faculty mentors. At the consortium students will give formal presentations of their current progress in developing a dissertation. Subjects to be covered in the presentations include a statement of the problem and research question(s), literature review, theory development and model, research methodology, and preliminary findings.
Doctoral Consortium participants may take advantage of special conference registration rates.
Visit the AMCIS 2011 web site for information on the Doctoral Consortium application process and form.
