This hybrid course will provide a combination of in-class learning experiences with student-directed learning using
web-based experiences. The course is designed to provide an overview and understanding of students with ADHD in the classroom and how to create an optimal learning environment for these students. Increase your skills for engineering environments, analyzing behavior, selecting research-validated interventions, and designing and implementing classroom environments and behavior support plans. |

Learning Goals/Course Objectives
- Understand the legal basis for the services to students with attention deficit/hyperactivity
- Understand the characteristics and identification process for students with ADHD
- Understand the impact of cultural diversity for students with ADHD
- Learn and discuss educational, technological and medical interventions for students with ADHD
- Discuss and design strategies to enhance classroom instructions and adaptations for students with ADHD
- Develop methods for promoting and improving a sense of community and social acceptance for students with ADHD
- Understand the use of functional behavior analysis and positive behavior intervention planning for students with ADHD
