Linda Gillum, Ph.D.
Associate Dean for Academic and Faculty Affairs

Linda Gillum, a Michigan native, joined the Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine in October, 2008 after a 30 year career in academic administration. At the University of Michigan, she served as Assistant Dean for Faculty Affairs, Assistant Dean for Student Affairs and Academic Services in the School of Medicine, and Assistant Provost for Academic Affairs. She was a Fellow of the American Council of Education at Princeton University and University of Michigan. Her scholarship has focused on learning and learning behaviors and effective learning environments.

Deirdre Pitts, MAOM, IPMA-CP
Director of Faculty Affairs & Professional Development

Deirdre G. Pitts is the Director of Faculty Affairs and Professional Development for the School of Medicine. Deirdre has over 20 years of experience in Human Resource administration and was previously the Director of Human Resources & Labor Relations of the City of Flint, Michigan. Deirdre will be leading programs and assisting faculty in developing their careers and gaining skills that lead to the successful achievement of promotion and tenure.

Her role also involves serving as a liaison to the Provost's Office, Academic Human Resources, University Human Resources, Legal Affairs, and Beaumont Health System on all faculty and faculty affairs staff matters. Deirdre graduated from Central Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and from Spring Arbor University with a Master of Arts in Organizational Management. Deirdre is also a Certified Human Resources Professional through the International Public Management Association.
