Retraining & Education
With a focus on retraining and re-educating displaced workers, this special CIBRE program offers four areas to prepare workers for the future while making the current workforce competitive:
- Prudent financial planning and effective corporate governance programs which address financial planning and investment strategies/risks in global markets and effective corporate audit/control.
- Effectively reaching global markets while maintaining Michigan operations by training professionals in the use of online and distributed-team technology (social networks, teleconferencing facilities, etc.) while educating them about global sensitivities and cultural diversity (e.g. working in global teams). With this foundation, Michigan talent can serve global needs as entrepreneurs and consultants without leaving Michigan.
- Expanding focus on customer and service side of automotive industry through programs to train engineering and management professionals to support opportunities outside the traditional product design and manufacturing (e.g. system integration with supply chain, on-demand service while product is in-use using collaborative digital platforms)
- Adapt automotive talent to emerging sectors through programs to train automotive talent to transition to emerging sectors (e.g. alternative energy, aerospace, electronics, communication and information technology and life sciences) in areas such as collaborative product design, digital manufacturing, supply chain management and service.
