1. Motion from the College of Arts and Sciences to approve a new Constitution. (Mr. Downing)
MOVED that the Senate recommend to the President and the Board approval of the new constitution of the College of Arts and Sciences.
First reading: Debatable but not eligible for final vote at this meeting. Senate protocol holds constitutions to be unamendable from the floor. If revisions seem to be needed, the document will be referred to its authors for reconsideration.
Comment: The revised constitution (Senators only) has been approved by the College of Arts and Sciences Assembly and Faculty.
2. Motion from the Graduate Council. (Mr. Dahlgren)
MOVED that the Senate recommend to the President and the Board the establishment of a program in Accounting leading to the Masters of Accounting (MAcc) degree.
First reading: Debatable, amendable and not eligible for final vote.
Comment: A copy of the proposal is attached (Senators only). The proposal has the endorsement of the Senate Planning Review Committee, the Senate Budget Review Committee and the Graduate Council.
