1. Steering Committee Replacement Election (Senate Elections Committee)

Comment: Geoff Brieger who was elected to the Steering Committee in September 1995 will be on leave winter term, 1996, thereby necessitating the election of a Senator to replace him for one semester. Members continuing to serve are Kevin Andrews (College), Buck Dillon (SBA), Robert Christina (SEHS), Eleanor Reynolds (VPAA Senate appointee), and George Dahlgren (Graduate Council). The Senate Constitution prohibits election of more than two Steering Committee members from any one organized faculty, therefore, given the current membership of the Steering Committee any Senate member is eligible for election. The Steering Committee meets twice a month on Tuesday afternoons from 1:00-3:00 p.m. to set the Senate agenda, refer business to Senate committees and receive reports from those bodies and advise the Vice President for Academic Affairs on governance issues; it also meets occasionally during the spring and summer. If you wish to nominate someone please establish in advance that the person is willing to serve and will be able to attend the Steering Committee meetings.

2. Procedural motion from the Steering Committee to fill vacancies on Senate standing committees for the terms specified (Mr. Andrews).

MOVED that the following persons be confirmed as elected to Senate Committees for the terms specified:

a. CAMPUS DEVELOPMENT AND ENVIRONMENT COMMITTEE

Robert Gaylor (Library) to replace Geoff Brieger (Chemistry) as Chair (winter term 1996)
Thaddeus Grudzien (Biology) to replace Geoff Brieger (winter term 1996)

b. HUMAN RELATIONS COMMITTEE

Sarah Gibson (SEHS) to replace Anahid Kulwicki (Nursing) as Chair, (winter term, 1996)
Ramune Mikaila (Nursing) to replace Anahid Kulwicki (winter term, 1996) Dale Nesbary (Political Science) to replace William Macauley (Political Science) (winter term, 1996)

c. ACADEMIC AND CAREER ADVISING COMMITTEE

Jerrold Grossman (Mathematical Sciences) to replace Sean Moran (History) (winter term, 1996)
