2.  Procedural motion from the Steering Committee to elect faculty members to the university's new Police Oversight Committee (Ms. Rush):

MOVED that the persons listed below be confirmed as nominated to serve as faculty representatives on the university's new Police Oversight Committee for terms as specified:

Jay Meehan (1 January 1993-31 August 1995)
Martha Zingo (I January 1993-31 August 1994)
Edward Farragher alternate (I January 1993-31 August 1995)

First Reading: Debatable, amendable, and eligible for final vote at this meeting.

Comment:   Now that the Board has voted to have the president rather than the county sheriff deputize Oakland University's police officers, the university is required by Michigan law to establish a Police Oversight Committee staffed by elected representatives of the university community. That committee, following recommendations of an Advisory group formed this summer to advise President Packard on this issue, must have members elected from various university groups--including two faculty members and a faculty alternate elected by the University Senate. The committee's function is to investigate any charges of inappropriate police behavior.

D.  Good and Welfare:
            Private Resolutions

E. Information Items:

1.  2 + 2 Agreement between Oakland University and Oakland Community College for programs in engineering and computer science (Mr. Appleton)
2. Planning Process Update
3. Fall enrollment information/winter projections
