Oakland Unviersity Senate
Second Meeting
Thursday, 17 October 1991
3:10 P.M.
Oakland Room, Oakland Center
AGENDA
Respectfully submitted by Keith R. Kleckner for the Steering Committee.
A. Old Business:
None
B. New Business:
1. Steering Committee Election (Mr. Arnold, Elections Committee Chair)
Comment: Mr. Stevens, who was elected in absentia at the 26 September meeting of the Senate, declares himself unable to serve. It is therefore necessary to conduct a special election to choose a sixth member of the Steering Committee. Current members are Senators Briggs-Bunting, Eberwein, Hough, Otto, and Rush. As two of these hail from the College of Arts and Sciences, members of that faculty are constitutionally excluded from election. All other senators are eligible.
2. Motion from the Steering Committee to appoint members to fill vacancies on certain Senate standing committees (Ms. Otto).
MOVED that the persons named below be elected to committees for terms as specified:
a. General Education Committee
Joyce Eckart to replace Sharon Muir (1991-92)
b. Committee on Human Relations
Eleanor Lewellen Reynolds to replace Ronald Kevern (1991-94)
Procedural Motion: Debatable, amendable, and eligible for final vote at this meeting.
3. Nomination of faculty members to serve on the Presidential Search Committee (Ms. Otto).
Note: You will be receiving information on this under separate cover in the form of a memorandum to all faculty. Senators: please note carefully the Senate agendum aspects of that memo.
C. Good and Welfare

D. Information items
Report on question raised by Mr. Stamps regarding a faculty club.
