1. Report on the Conduct of the Presidential Search (Trustee Phyllis Law Googasian).
2. Steering Committee Election (Mr. Arnold, Elections Committee Chair)
Comment: Six Senators are to be elected to serve on this committee during 1991-93. Article IV, ix, of the Constitution of the Oakland University Senate, as amended and approved 6 May 1982, reads as follows with respect to the membership of that body: ix. The University Senate shall have a Steering Committee composed of the Provost of the University (or his designee), who shall serve as chairperson, and six other Senators, elected at the first Senate meeting of the Fall semester. The Committee's term of office shall be two years. No more than two seats shall be held by Senators from any one faculty. A list of current Senators accompanies this agenda to assist members in nominating candidates.
3. Motion from the Steering Committee to appoint members to fill vacancies on certain Senate standing committees (Mr. Braunstein).
a. Academic Standing and Honors Committee
Gloria Blatt (replacing Julia Dorminey), 1991-93.
b. Research Committee
Gopalan Srinivasan (replacing K. C. Cheok), 1991-93.
c. Academic Computing Committee
Gary Moore (replacing Rita Gallagher), 1991-92.
Kenneth York to serve as chair, 1991-92.
Procedural Motion: Debatable, amendable, and eligible for final vote at this meeting.
Comment. Mr. York is a continuing member of the Academic Computing Committee; Ms. Gallagher was the chair-designate, appointed by the Senate last April.
