A. Old Business
1. Motion from the Senate Committee on Human Relations (Ms. Garcia; Ms. Briggs-Bunting).
Item B.I. from the agenda of 11 April 1991.
a. Main Motion
MOVED that each School or Department shall develop a program to increase understanding of racial and cultural diversity issues and to examine especially those racial and cultural diversity issues important to that particular discipline.
Reports of accomplishments and programming, including ways in which you plan to implement programming in 1991-92, should be submitted by September 30, 1991, to the Senate Committee on Human Relations.

b. Amendment to Motion A.I. (Mr. Braunstein; Mr. Stern):
MOVED that the motion be amended to move the reporting date from September 30 to October 15, 1991.

2. Motion from the Senate Committee on Human Relations (Ms. Garcia; Ms. Briggs-Bunting).

a. Main Motion
MOVED that the Senate shall recommend to the President of Oakland University that the Board of Trustees dedicate the sum of one million dollars to endow scholarships to enhance the diversity of the university's student population.

b. Amendment to Motion A.2. (Mr. Stern; Ms. Kazarian):
MOVED that the motion be amended by addition of the clause "some portion of which shall be reserved for advising and academic assistance as either of these prove to be necessary" between the words "dollars" and "to" of the motion.

1. Procedural motion from the Steering Committee to fill a vacancy on a Senate committee (Ms. Tripp):
MOVED that Robert Eberwein be named to replace Frank Schieber as the College of Arts and Sciences member of the University Committee on Undergraduate Instruction for the 1991-92 academic year.

2. Motion from the Steering Committee to extend the Senate calendar (Ms. Cass):
MOVED that the Senate business year be extended as necessary to respond to recommendations that may be forthcoming in the report of the Ad hoc Subcommittee on Conference Center Planning.
