Secretary to the University Senate
Re: Change in October Meeting Schedule
There will be a special meeting of the University Senate on Thursday, 20 October, at 3:10 p.m. in O'Dowd Hall, room 203. This is not a normal business meeting but an opportunity for the whole university community to hear a report from the Ad hoc Committee on Race Relations regarding the recent conference at the St. Clair Inn. Professor Patrick Strauss and his colleagues will deliver a report, respond to questions, and invite discussion of this important topic. They expect to circulate materials in advance of the meeting. All students, faculty members, and staff are encouraged to attend.
The Steering Committee has cancelled the October 13 Senate meeting so that members may attend Wallace Terry's lecture on The American Experience in Vietnam, which begins at 2:30 p.m. in the Crockery. Tickets may be purchased from CIPO. This event is co-sponsored by the Student Life Lecture Board and the Student Program Board with the support of Multicultural Programs.
