AGENDA
Respectfully submitted by Keith R. Kleckner for the Steering Committee.
A. Old Business:
None
B. New Business:
1. Motion from the Assembly of the School of Human and Educational Services to approve a revised Constitution (Mr. Pine).
MOVED that the revised Constitution for the School of Human and Educational Services be approved.
Comment: The SHES Assembly presents a completely revised document for Senate approval; a synthesis of the school and department constitutions which have been operating in tandem. A copy of the revised Constitution, as ratified by the Assembly, is attached (for Senators only). A short summary of major distinctions between this document and its predecessor will be available at the meeting.
First Reading: Debatable, but not amendable and not eligible for final vote at this meeting. (In the past, school constitutions have been treated as debatable but not amendable. The debate during first reading may lead the sponsor to make corrections and emendations, but the Senate may not itself amend the document. A negative vote on second reading returns the motion, perhaps with specific instructions, to the sponsoring body; a positive vote constitutes approval.)
C. Good and Welfare:
Private Resolutions
D. Information Item:
The Steering Committee has scheduled Senate meetings for Wednesday, June 2, and Thursday, June 3, at 3:00 p.m. in rooms 128, 129, 130 of the Oakland Center. The agenda includes the second reading of the SHES Constitution and CAMP issues broug forth by the APPC.
E. President's Remarks:
