FOR THE INFORMATION OF THE SENATE
1. Pursuant to action taken by the Senate on April 20, 1978, there will be a meeting of the Senate on May 3, 1978, 3:00-5:00 p.m., 128-130 Oakland Center with the agenda limited to discussion and consideration of endorsement in principle of a set of documents collectively entitled University Planning Document-1978.
2. As the Senate knows, considerable confusion over the membership of the Campus Development and Environment Committee seems to have developed. The Chair of the Steering Committee takes the liberty to present the following information:
a. On April 14, 1977, upon nomination of the Steering Committee, the Senate confirmed the following membership of the Campus Development and Environment Committee:
NOMINEES to new two-year terms (1977-79) effective Fall, 1977.
David Evans, Engineering-- second preference
William Forbes, Biological Sciences --first preference
Richard Stamps, Sociology/Anthropology --first preference
Continuing members serving final year (1977-78).
Robert Gaylor, Library --Chairperson
Steven Miller, Chemistry
b. The agenda and minutes of this meeting were sent to all Chairs of Senate Standing Committees, including Mr. Gaylor. The Steering Committee assumed (and still assumes) that Chairs would get in touch with the new membership of their committees. Apparently, this was a faulty assumption, since Mr. Gaylor, in his recently submitted Annual Report, does not include the members as confirmed April 14, 1977. In any case the faculty membership of this committee now is as confirmed April 13 and 20, 1978, and interested parties will be so notified.
