Present: Senators Coffman, Covert, Felton, Gardiner, Hetenyi, Hitchingham, McKay, Obear, O'Dowd, Strauss and Torch.
Absent: Senators Akers, Atlas, Barnard, Barron, Barthel, Beardman, Bingham, Brieger, D. Burdick, H. Burdick, Burke, DeMent, Evarts, Feeman, L. Gerulaitis, R. Gerulaitis, Graber, Gray, Haskell, Herker, Hovanesian, Hough, Johnson, Krompart, Liboff, Light, Matthews, McBride, McKinley, Moorhouse, O'Leary, Palmer, Paslay, Riley, Schillace, Schwartz, Seeber, Shacklett, Stone, Susskind, Taylor, Tipler and Wyatt.
I. New Business
1. Motions from the Academic Standing and Honors Committee
a. Mr. McKay moved, seconded by Mr. Torch:
a. that motions b, c, and d be approved for final vote at this meeting.
Procedural motion.
Motion approved.
b. Mr. McKay moved, seconded by Mr. Coffman:
that the faculty of Oakland nominate for the bachelor's degree the students named on the list distributed with this agenda.
Motion approved.
c. Mr. McKay moved, seconded by Mr. Hetenyi:
that university honors be awarded to those persons named on a list to be distributed at the Senate meeting.
Motion approved
d. Mr. Hetenyi moved, seconded by Mr. Strauss:
that the April, 1975 graduation list be amended to note the awarding of the Diploma in Professional Development in Engineering to Mr. Wesley Raymond Parker, student number 90566, effective April 22, 1975.
Mr. Obear moved, seconded by Mr. McKay:
that the motion be amended to read " . . . awarding of the Professional Development Degree in Engineering . . . "
Motion approved.
Mr. McKay moved, seconded by Mr. Hetenyi:
that the motion be amended to include the statement that Ms. Martha Anne Schlossberg, student number 124315, be awarded university honors, magna cum laude, instead of cum laude as noted in the April, 1975 honors list.
Motion approved.
Mr. McKay moved, seconded by Mr. Strauss:
that the motion be amended to note that the name of Mr. Robert Raymond Smith, student number 36106, be removed from the April, 1975 graduation list.
Motion approved.
Motion, approved as amended, reads as follows:
