MINUTES
Present: Senators Beardman, Coffman, Covert, Evans, Feeman, Gardiner, Heubel, Kleckner, Lind, Matthews, Obear, O'Dowd, Orton, Pettengill, Solomon, Tagore, Titus, Torch, Williamson, and Witt
The meeting was called to order by President O'Dowd at 5:20 p.m.
A. New Business
1. Motions from the Academic Standing and Honors Committee, by Ms. Orton.
* a. "THAT MOTIONS b, c, d, AND e BE APPROVED FOR FINAL VOTE AT THIS MEETING."
Seconded by Mr. Torch. Approved.
* b. "THAT THE FACULTY OF OAKLAND NOMINATE FOR THE BACHELOR'S DEGREE THE STUDENTS NAMED ON THE LIST DISTRIBUTED AT THIS MEETING (AND INCLUDED WITH THE FILE COPY OF THESE MINUTES)."
Seconded by Mr. Torch. Approved.
* c. "THAT THE SENATE FIND APPROPRIATE FOR UNIVERSITY HONORS PURPOSES THE GRADE POINT AVERAGES SET FORTH ON THE LIST DISTRIBUTED AT THIS MEETING (AND INCLUDED WITH THE FILE COPY OF THESE MINUTES).'''
Seconded by Mr. Gardiner. Approved.
* d. "THAT UNIVERSITY HONORS BE AWARDED TO THOSE PERSONS NAMED ON THE LIST DISTRIBUTED AT THIS MEETING (AND INCLUDED WITH THE FILE COPY OF THESE MINUTES)."
Seconded by Mr. 3eardrnan. Approved.
* e. "THAT THE FACULTY OF OAKLAND NOMINATE FOR THE DIPLOMA OF DRAMATIC ART THE STUDENTS NAMED ON THE LIST DISTRIBUTED AT THIS MEETING (AND INCLUDED WITH THE FILE COPY OF THESE MINUTES)."
Seconded by Mr. Torch. Approved.
2. Since questions were raised concerning the absence of two names from the graduation list, Mr. Obear moved:
* "THAT THE SENATE AUTHORIZE THE INCLUSION IN THE GRADUATION LIST OF STUDENTS WHO WERE LEFT OFF THE DISTRIBUTED LIST BECAUSE OF ADMINISTRATIVE ERROR."
Seconded by Mr. Torch. Approved. (It was later determined that with respect to the questions raised, the list was correct as presented.)
A copy of the revised departmental honors list is attached to these minutes. It supersedes the list distributed with the agenda for the May 29 meeting. Also attached are copies of the graduation list and University Honors list as distributed at the meeting.
The meeting adjourned at 5:40 p.m.
