Submitted by Frederick W. Obear, for the Steering Committee Please Note: The Assembly of the College of Arts and Sciences will meet in room 128-29 Oakland Center at 3 p.m. Tuesday, to approve the college degree lists. At the conclusion of their meeting, the Senate will convene.

B. New Business

1. Motions from the Academic Standing and Honors Committee (Mr. McKay)

a. That motions b), c), d), and e) be approved for final vote at this meeting. Procedural motion

b. That the faculty of Oakland University nominate for the bachelor's degree, conferred as of April 21, 1971, the students named on the list distributed at this meeting.

c. That the students, named on the list distributed at this meeting, and who intend to complete their requirements for the bachelor's degree in spring '71 or summer '71 be authorized to participate in the commencement exercises on June 5, 1971.

d. That Mark Platt be granted, posthumously, the B.S. degree in management.

Comment: Mark Platt died on January 6, 1971, after completing 94 credits with a cumulative grade point average of 3.14. With strong endorsements from New College and the School of Economics and Management, the Committee on Academic Standing and Honors recommends the granting of the degree (without all requirements satisfied).

e. That university honors be awarded to the graduating seniors named on the list distributed at the meeting.
