Minutes
PRESENT: Messrs. Arnold, Cherno, Davis, Hildum, P.J. Johnson, McKay, Obear, Righter, Seeber, Simmons, Tipler, Torch.
Mr. Obear called the meeting to order at 3:35 p.m.
NEW BUSINESS
* Mr. McKay moved the motion of the Academic Standing and Honors Committee
"THAT MOTIONS (b), (c), (d) AND (e) BE APPROVED FOR FINAL VOTE AT THIS MEETING.
Seconded by Mr. Cherno.
Motion carried.
*Mr. McKay moved for the Academic Standing and Honors Committee
"THAT THE FACULTY OF OAKLAND UNIVERSITY NOMINATE FOR THE BACHELOR'S DEGREE, CONFERRED AS OF APRIL 21, 1971, THE STUDENTS NAMED ON THE LIST DISTRIBUTED AT THIS MEETING."
Seconded by Mr. Simmons.
Motion carried.
*Mr. McKay moved for the Academic Standing and Honors Committee
"THAT THE STUDENTS, NAMED ON THE LIST DISTRIBUTED AT THIS MEETING, AND WHO INTEND TO COMPLETE THEIR REQUIREMENTS FOR THE BACHELOR'S DEGREE IN SPRING 1971 OR SUMMER, 1971, BE AUTHORIZED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE COMMENCEMENT EXERCISES ON JUNE 5, 1971."
Seconded by Mr. Simmons.
Motion carried.

"THAT MARK PLATT BE GRANTED, POSTHUMOUSLY, THE BACHELOR OF SCIENCE DEGREE IN MANAGEMENT."
Seconded by Mr. Simmons.
Motion carried.
* Mr. McKay moved for the Academic Standing and Honors Committee
"THAT UNIVERSITY HONORS BE AWARDED TO THE GRADUATING SENIORS NAMED ON THE LIST DISTRIBUTED AT THE MEETING AND THE NAME OF WILLIAM EDWARD WHITSTON BE ADDED TO THE LIST."
Seconded by Mr. Simmons.
Motion carried.
The Chair directed the Academic Policy Committee to review present legislation and recommend a policy regarding requests for dual degrees.
Mr. Davis moved the meeting be adjourned.
Seconded by Mr. Witt.
