MINUTES

PRESENT: Messrs. Davis, Hildum, P. J. Johnson, McKay, Obear, Simmons, Stoutenburg.
ABSENT: Messrs. Akers, J. R. Appleton, Barthel, Beardman, Briod, Burdick, Burke, Butler, Cherno, Coon, Cramer, DeMent, Dovaras, Dutton, Fernald, Gerulaitis, Gibson, Good, Harding, Haskell, Hetenyi, Heubel, Iodice, Phil Johnson, Kent, Kleckner, Letvin, Mascitelli, Matthews, Miss Mattis, Messrs. O'Dowd, Righter, Rue, Seeber, Springfield, Stern, Susskind, Swanson, Tipler, Torch, Torgoff, Witt.

Mr. Davis called the meeting to order at 3:20 p.m.

* Mr. McKay moved the recommendation of the Academic Standing and Honors Committee that

"THE TWO MOTIONS PRESENTED BELOW BE APPROVED FOR FINAL VOTE AT THIS MEETING."

Seconded by Mr. P. J. Johnson. Approved.

* Mr. McKay moved the recommendation of the Academic Standing and Honors Committee that

"THE FACULTY OF OAKLAND UNIVERSITY NOMINATE FOR THE BACHELOR'S DEGREE, CONFERRED AS OF APRIL 25, 1970, THE STUDENTS NAMED IN THE LIST DISTRIBUTED AT THIS MEETING." (See attached list.)

Seconded by Mr. Hildum. Approved.

* Mr. McKay moved the recommendation of the Academic Standing and Honors Committee that

"UNIVERSITY HONORS BE AWARDED TO THE GRADUATING STUDENTS NAMED IN THE LIST DISTRIBUTED AT THIS MEETING." (See attached list.)

Seconded by Mr. Simmons. Approved.

Mr. McKay stated that the nominations for the master's degree would be presented by the Academic Standing and Honors Committee at a subsequent Senate meeting. Mr. Davis then declared, with the agreement of the Senators present, that this meeting be recessed until a later date to be determined by the Steering Committee

The meeting was recessed at 3:35 p.m.
