This summary contains only a brief synopsis of the agenda for the last meeting of the Senate. A copy of the complete agenda will be posted in the offices of all deans, chairmen, and directors of academic and administrative departments, including the various deans for student affairs, the head counselors in the resident halls, and the coordinators of student activities.
A. Old Business
The agenda originally intended for the Thursday, April 9th meeting will be followed. In includes recommendations (with numerous amendments) on:
1. Major requirements.
2. Grading policies.
3. Grading systems.
4. General education requirements.
The other items on the April 2nd agenda will receive their second readings at the Thursday, April 16th meeting.
B. New Business
1. The B.S. degree. Proposal to offer the B.S. degree in the College of Arts and Sciences. First reading.
2. Constitutional Amendment. Proposed constitutional amendment to allow the Graduate Council to recommend to the Board of Trustees all candidates for graduate degrees. First reading.
3. Graduate Council Constitution. Proposal to approve the Constitution of the Graduate Council. First reading.
4. Long-Range Development Committee. Nomination of Allen Chamberlin to fill a vacancy on the Long-Range Development Committee. First reading.
