Re: Agenda for Meeting of October 3, 1968

The next meeting of the University Senate will be held on Thursday, October 3, at 3:30 p.m., in Room 310 of the Kresge Library.

Please note: The formal agenda of this meeting lists only the acceptance of recent appointments to the Senate, as noted below. Thus, Chancellor Varner would like to use this opportunity to consult with the Senate on several issues of significance to the development of the University.

A. New Business

1. Report of Steering Committee Activities (O'Dowd)

a. The Executive Committee of the organized faculty of the School of Education has notified the Steering Committee that Messrs. Schwab and Briod have been appointed to serve the respective unexpired terms of Messrs. Norris and Langer as University Senators from the School of Education.

b. The Executive Committee of the College of Arts and Sciences has designated Mr. Pitts to assume the University Senate seat of Mr. Howes (on leave), and Mr. H. Clarke to assume the seat of Mr. Burke (on leave). Mr. Vann, elected to the Senate a year ago but who was on leave during the past academic year, will assume his place on the Senate. (Mr. Heubel, who is now on leave, served in Vann's stead last year.)
