MINUTES

PRESENT: Messrs. Atkinson, Dutton, lodice, Johnson, Matthews, McKay, O'Dowd, Pino, Righter, Shank, Stoutenburg.
ABSENT: Messrs. Appleton, Burdick, Burke, Butler, Cafone, Cherno, Davis, Fernald, Galloway, Gerulaitis, Gibson, Hahn, Hammerle, Harding, Heubel, Hetenyi, Hoopes, Hough, Howes, Kent, Kleckner, Langer, Linsalata, Lowy, Lyons, Simmons, Susskind, Swanson, Tomboulian, Torch, Varner, Williamson, Mrs. White, Miss Attwood, Miss Juth.
GUEST: Mr. Obear.

Provost O'Dowd called the meeting to order at 3:30 p.m.

* Mr. McKay moved "TO MAKE ELIGIBLE FOR VOTE TODAY THE FOLLOWING MOTIONS."

Seconded by Mr. Shank. Adopted.

* Mr. McKay moved the recommendation from the Academic Standing and Honors Committee "THAT THE FACULTY OF OAKLAND UNIVERSITY NOMINATES THE GRADUATE AND UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS NAMED IN THE LIST TO BE DISTRIBUTED AT THE MEETING TO RECEIVE THE DESIGNATED BACHELOR'S AND MASTER'S DEGREES AS OF AUGUST 10, 1968." Seconded by Mr. Righter. Adopted.

* Mr. McKay moved the recommendation from the Academic Standing and Honors Committee "TO ADD THE NAMES OF RUTH ELLEN HURST AND JANET LOUISE LEFEBER TO THE UNIVERSITY HONORS CUM LAUDE LIST." Seconded by Mr. Shank. Adopted.

Mr. Matthews informed the Senate that Miss Delfina Patta Burns was given departmental honors in history from the College of Arts and Sciences.
