MINUTES
PRESENT: Messrs.: Burdick, Burke, Collins, Haden, Harding, Hetenyi, Heubel, Lowy, Marz, Matthews, G., Johnson, O'Dowd, Stoutenburg, Stubblefield, Susskind, Swanson, Tipler, Tomboulian, Varner, Williamson

Chancellor Varner called the meeting to order at 4:08 p.m.
Chancellor Varner discussed the status of the Engineering Building.
A series of questions regarding the new parking regulations were answered by Mr. Corona.
Mr. Heubel moved to accept the minutes of the April 19, August 10, and August 17, meetings of the Senate. Seconded by Mr. Stubblefield. Approved.
NEW BUSINESS
Mr. Johnson, chairman of the Election Committee, directed the election of Senators to the 1966-67 Steering Committee. Paper ballots were cast.
Elected to the Steering Committee were:
Messrs. Matthews, G., Heubel, Dutton, Williamson, Brace, Johnson.
OLD BUSINESS
Mr. O'Dowd reported on the Senate Meetings of August 10 and 17. He described the procedure used for identifying departmental honors, University honors, and the nomination for Master of Arts, Master of Science, and Bachelor's degrees.
Mr. Johnson was nominated and elected to serve on the University Government Committee to replace Mr. Hammerle who is on leave.
Mr. Tomboulian volunteered to serve as the faculty member on the University Parking Committee. His acceptance was unanimous.
The meeting adjourned at 5:15 p.m.
