MINUTES

PRESENT: J. Appleton, Dutton, Gibson, Haden, Harding, Hetenyi, Heubel, Johnson, Marz, Matthews, O'Dowd, Pitts, Stoutenburg, Stubblefield
GUESTS: Atkinson, Obear, Pino, F. Smith

Provost O'Dowd called the meeting to order at 10:05 a.m.

Mr. Hetenyi moved to accept the minutes of August 10. Seconded by Mr. Stubblefield. Approved.

Mr. Marz moved the recommendation of the Committee on Academic Standing and Baccalaureate Honors, that the faculty of Oakland University nominate the undergraduate students named in the list provided by the Registrar for the Bachelor's degree.  Seconded by Mr. Stubblefield.

Mr. Atkinson moved to amend the motion to remove from the list the names of Michael Ashley (failure of major course) and Herbert Loner (incomplete course). Seconded by Mr. Stubblefield. Approved.

The main motion was approved with the above exceptions.

Mr. Marz moved the recommendation of the Committee on Academic Standing and Baccalaureate Honors that the faculty of Oakland University nominate the graduate students named in the list attached for the Master's degree. Seconded by Mr. Stubblefield. Approved.

Mr. Marz moved the recommendation of the Committee on Academic Standing, that University Honors be awarded to the Bachelor candidates named in the attached list. Seconded by Mr. Pitts. Approved.

(It was agreed that these names should be listed in the April 1967 Commencement Program.)

Mr. Pitts moved that Departmental Honors in Sociology be given to Nancy Cowen and Richard Lusky. Seconded by Mr. J. Appleton. Approved.

The meeting was adjourned at 11:00 a.m.
