RE: Agenda for Meeting of January 17, 1964
The next meeting of the Senate will be on Friday, January 17, 1964, at 4:00 p.m. in Room 126-7 of the Oakland Center.
A. New Business
1. Recommendations from the Committee on Academic Standing (Mr. Sells)
a. That the attached Registrar's list of 18 candidates for the bachelors degree be approved by the Senate.
b. That Michael Batinski be awarded the degree magna cum laude.
c. That Michael Batinski be awarded Departmental Honors in History.
It is requested that the Senate authorize a final vote on the three preceding motions at this meeting.
2. Report of Steering Committee Activities (Mr. O'Dowd)
a. The Steering Committee has been attempting to work more closely with the standing and ad hoc committees through its designated liaison members.
b. The Committee has discussed a memorandum from the Student- Faculty University Committee and referred several recommendations that it contains to the appropriate agencies for consideration.
c. The ad hoc Committee on the Revision of the Constitution, Bylaws, and Elections Procedures has reported that it will present a revised constitution for the consideration of the Senate in the near future.
