RE: Agenda for Meeting of September 9, 1963

The next meeting of the Senate will be on Monday, September 9, 1963, at 4:00 p.m. in room 126-127 of the Oakland Center.

A. New Business

1. Election of the Steering Committee of the Senate for 1963-64.

The organizational document of the Senate reads as follows:

The Senate shall have a Steering Committee composed of the Dean of the University and six persons elected by the Senate at its first meeting of the Fall semester. Its term of office shall be for one year. Elected members of the Committee shall include at least one person from each academic division and at least one person unattached to any academic division.

It has been traditional for the Election Committee appointed to supervise the annual Senate election in April to prepare ballots and supervise the election of the Steering Committee in September. The membership of the Election Committee includes Mr. Burdick, chairman, Mr. Hucker, and Mr. McKay.

The ad hoc Committee on Degrees and Honors met on August 20, 1963, and nominated for the Bachelor's Degree the following 29 students:
