MEMORANDUM

Re:     1. Motion on Established Majors
          2. Motion on Business Administration Program Majors
          3. Motion on Revised English-Western Literature UC Course

The Academic Affairs Committee requests the following motions be placed upon the Senate agenda.

1. Move the adoption of the adjustments in established majors contained in attached document Adjustments in Established Majors.

2. Move the adoption of the Business Administration Major contained in attached document Business Administration Program Major.

3. Move the adoption of new Western Literature courses outlined in the attached memorandum from the English staff. The course numbers for the proposed new courses to be UC 016 and UC 017, Western Literature.

LIBERAL ARTS MAJORS

Art, chemistry, classical languages, economics, English, history, Latin, mathematics, modern languages, music, philosophy, physics, political science, psychology, sociology and anthropology

*Majors in chemistry and physics take only two courses in foreign language.

**Majors in chemistry, mathematics and physics offer mathematics and science courses in lieu of the UC Math/Science courses.  Majors in economics offer a mathematics course in lieu of the UC Math/Science.

No adjustment of majors is needed; net effect of recent Senate action is a gain of one elective in all programs.
