In order to facilitate the review process for new degree programs, the following procedures should be followed for all new degree programs that have been approved by the college/ school assemblies and are seeking governance review and the approval of the Board of Trustees.
New Undergraduate Degree Programs
An electronic copy of the program proposal should be sent to the:
a) Chair of the Senate Steering committee (the Provost)
b) Secretary of the Senate
c) Chair of UCUI
d) Chair of the Senate Budget Review Committee
e) Chair of the Senate Planning Review Committee
New Graduate Programs
An electronic copy of the program proposal should be sent to the:
a) Chair of the Senate Steering committee (the Provost)
b) Secretary of the Senate
c) Chair of the Graduate Council
d) Chair of the Senate Budget Review Committee
e) Chair of the Senate Planning Review Committee
New Non-degree Programs
Since new non-degree programs do not require Board of Trustee approval and therefore University Senate review and recommendation, electronic copies of all new non-degree program proposals approved by college/school
assemblies should be sent to the:
a) Chair of the Senate Steering committee (the Provost)
b) Secretary of the Senate
so they can be placed as information items on the Senate agenda.
