The Residential Program provides pre-college students with an introduction to higher education. Students reside overnight in our residence halls to “get a taste of college life.” Highlights include:
Career Explorations: Academic presentations provided by various professional schools and academic departments at Oakland University.
Informational Programs: Informational sessions in critical areas such as admissions and financial aid are presented to students.
Campus Tours: Program mentors accompany students, familiarizing them with Oakland University’s campus.
Social Activities: Students participate in various activities to enhance their social awareness.
Recreational Activities: Students are able to utilize OU's state-of-the-art Recreation Center. Amenities include a 50-meter pool, racquetball/squash courts, gymnasium, table tennis and strength/cardiovascular training equipment.

Transition to High School Residential Program
The program is designed as an introduction to high school education for newly entering 9th grade students. Students will reside for three days in our residence halls (dorms) with other transitional 9th grade students to receive guidance on how to make a successful adjustment from middle school to high school.
Participants will experience a taste of life as a college student. During your stay with us you will be taken on a campus tour led by our program mentors to familiarize you with Oakland University. In addition, you will receive: 1) academic presentations provided by various professional schools and academic departments, 2) informational programs in critical areas such as time management, study skills, peer pressure, conflict resolution and 3) social and recreational activities.
