Allergy Injection Therapy
Initial office visit at GHC required
The following information is needed for records at Graham Health Center prior to starting allergy injection therapy:
- Allergist Name, Address, and Telephone Number
- Serum
- Dose Record
- Date prophylaxis started, and any reactions
- Brief Physical Exam
The first injection from a new bottle of serum (or if for any reason your serum dilution concentration is changed) must be given by the allergist. You will be asked to wait 20 minutes after your injection at the Graham Health Center. Cost: $10.00 for first injection and $2.00 for each additional injection (given at same visit).

Contraception
- Contraceptives includes oral contraceptives, vaginal ring, patch, condoms and Depo Provera injections.
- Oral contraceptives (birth control pills) are available for $15/month. Students may obtain their physical and pelvic exam at Graham Health Center or bring a copy of a recent pap smear report (within past 12 months). A clinic visit at GHC is required.
- The several oral contraceptive pills are available at a cost of $15 a pack for established patients.

Emergency Contraceptive Pill
Two options are available
1. Plan B is effective up to 72 hours (3 days) after unprotected sex
- Cost: $25.00 (office visit not needed )
- Must be 18 years old and show picture ID
- If under 18 years of age an office visit is required

2. Ella is effective up to 120 hours (5 days) after unprotected sex
- available only with a short office visit ($30.00 if no insurance) at GHC
- by prescription only, available at Crittenton pharmacy for $42

HIV/STD Testing and Counseling
Diagnosis and treatment of sexually transmitted diseases is available at the Graham Health Center.
Health Promotion and Teaching
Graham Health Center engages in campus-wide health education activities to promote the health and wellness of Oakland University students. To arrange for a staff member to speak on a health related topic call GHC. Available topics are Safer Sex, STI's, Testicular self-exam and cancer, immunizations, contraceptives, healthy eating habits, and stress management. Feel free to request a particular topic.
HPV Vaccine (Gardasil)
Provided at GHC, some insurances will provide coverage. Free vaccine is available from the manufacture if you qualify.
Cost is $155.00 each, with three doses required over a six month period.

Tdap: diphtheria, tetanus, and pertussis (whooping cough) - A booster is recommended every 10 years
Hepatitis B - 3 injections are required over a 6 month period.
Meningococcal (meningitis) vaccine – one time dose
HPV (Gardasil) Vaccine – 3 injections are required over a six month period
- Cost $160 each
- Many insurances provide coverage
- Free vaccine may be available if you qualify
MMR (measles, mumps, rubella)- 2 injections are required over a 28 day period)
Influenza- one injection annually
Health Insurance
Health care insurance is available to any enrolled student of Oakland University. Insurance is offered through UnitedHealthcare starting August 2012. Enrollment will soon be available at www.uhcsr.com
Laboratory
GHC offers a wide range of diagnostic and laboratory testing. These services must be ordered by a health care provider at the Graham Health Center.
Medications and Health Related Items
- Prescription medications are available at discounted prices for uninsured students who receive care at Graham Health Center.
- Low cost medical supplies including bandaids,dressings, ankle/wrist/knee supports, splints, slings, peroxide, crutches, first aid kit and other various items such as condoms, pedometers are for sale at the front window.
- Over-the-counter medications not requiring a prescription may also be purchased at Graham Health Center.Click here for a list of medications and supplies.

Pap Smears
Pap smears are recommended yearly at age 21 or 3 years after a woman becomes sexually active (whichever is first). Gynecological problems can be diagnosed and treated including problems with vaginal discharge, menstrual cramps, pelvic pain and discomfort with sexual intercourse
Physicals for Work or School
Physicals can be performed on a scheduled basis. Appointments are required. Special package prices. Rapid drug screening available
Prescriptions
We are not a state licensed pharmacy. We are only able to dispense medication ordered by the health care provider after they have had an opportunity to evaluate your concerns
Pregnancy Testing
Is available with immediate results. We will take time to answer all your questions and concerns and provide unbiased options counseling.
