However, this salary is paid out over a 9-month (August through April) or 12-month (August through July) cycle.
For Those Faculty Who Elect the 12-Month Pay Option
Those employees who begin employment with Oakland University in the Fall semester (August) will begin receiving wages in August and will continue to receive monthly checks through the end of the academic year (July).
Those employees who resign/retire at the end of the Fall semester (December) will be paid August through January of that academic year in order to receive one-half of their annual salary over six months. Those employees who resign/retire at the end of Winter semester (April) will be paid through July of that year in order to receive their full annual salary.
Those full-time faculty employees in instructional positions who start during the year other than in August should have their hiring unit contact Academic Human Resources for clarification on pay schedules.
