Confined Spaces Program
The OSHA Confined Spaces Standard (29 CFR 1910.146), which MIOSHA has adopted by reference in Part 90 Confined Space Entry and Part 490 Permit-Required Confined Spaces, is intended to protect workers from toxic, explosive or asphyxiating atmospheres and from possible engulfment from small particles.

Oakland University has identified all "permit-required" confined spaces on campus to prevent unauthorized entry into these spaces and to protect entrants (those issued an entry permit) from these hazards through a written entry permit space program and training.
